Goodness gracious.... almost a year already The year has flown past, hasn't it? I'm still thinking I did that road trip the other day. So, not much has happened in my life, but I had a rare opportunity to visit the fashion collection archive at the Social History Centre in Cape Town. Apart form the fact that it is housed in a beautiful building The oldest clothes are from the 1700s and we had the rare privilege to see one up close and personal, including some undergarments and shoes. the corsetry is from the early 1900's, since the corset of the pink dress was worked into the actual garment and not a separate piece. so, without further ado:

Firstly, a little take-off of the last Dacota at Ysterplaat airfield. The last one just got a beautiful paint job and then crashed in the Drakensberg. Tragic, tragic accident. I do love the view from my flat :) I also did a bit of sewing (something non-white for a change) OK, technically this last one is cream, but it does not look like it in the picture. I also had a make-over  And just to prove what a difference that made, here is a picture of half-on half-off :)  I also had some adventures and met with friends, went to a wedding, Went to an old-fashioned drive in and started knitting on a table cloth, which, if you follow me on Instagram or facebook, was unpicked quite a bit last night due to a dropped stitch that was decreased a few times and thus unravelled down, down, down. I saved it, finally, but had to undo about a week's worth of work.  I am quite a bit further than in this picture, though.  ...

Yes, yes, my avid readers, it has been a while. Last time, I was only allowed to post the one wedding - which, by the way should be entered into the bride of the year competition. BUT now I can post the other two weddings. Bride Number One got hitched on the 6th of December in Malawi and it looks like an awesome wedding, with dancing barefoot on a lawn. My type of wedding :) The second wedding took place just two weeks ago, on the first of Feb. Indian style with some "sokkie-sokkie langarm" thrown in on the side. Complete with a candy BAR - YUM!
