Finally :)

Image
A good few years ago, my friend H went to visit her family in the states and her mom was generous enough to part with some of her stash. I blogged about the start of the quilt a while back (In february last year - go figure) and then the top wound up in the cupboard, since I was so busy sewing for other people Well, this year marked a new season, and I finally have finished it :) Doing the happy dance right now Thank you H and M. If you want to follow M's own blog and look at the amazing stuff SHE does, just click on through to " In the desert ". Thank you for your stash and look what I've done with it....

My life at the moment is in slow-motion. I go to work, I read, I sleep, I go to work. On weekends I see friends, pehaps sew a little, read some more and generally veg on the couch. Ahhhh, the life of a single person. I have sewn the top of the quilt, but I need a bit of a contraption (or a volounteer) to hold it up to get a picture. I have also, after a few months of searching for the right fabric, finished my "I got wings" jacket. Soon to be worn in public. (click on image to enlarge, or go to my deviantart profile ) At the moment I am helping out a friend while her husband is overseas. Oh boy, two nights of a screeming 2 1/2 year old hours past bedtime, is exhausting. Although, last night there was silence - blissful silence! It can get better in other words. And I know that C's and my prayers were answered. After a few nights only, I honestly do not know how single mothers cope, either with one or with more. I also understand the joys of motherhood slightly...

Birthday celebration - Goooooing UP!

Image
Since my brithday fell on a Sunday this year, I took advantage of the Cable Car offer to take a free ride. CLick on pictures for a bigger view.  The friends gather at the bottom. Happy belated BIrthday Yerusha :) Our little excursion was damatically cut short by the FREEEEEEEZING wind on to and the cold front moving in. Last cabel car down at 16h20 - well, we did not want to walk all the way, so that is what we did. Nevertheless, thanks Ryan, Gideon and Yerusha for making my day special and joining me on top.

My Friday evening...

It was a beautiful warm - berg-wind 25 Degrees day..... My friend M and I  headed over to (ok, the picture is turned, but otherwise people will look at you funny when you turn your head to read!) for some SUSHI - Yummy, yummy yum Because of a little leaflet in the mail, we got complementary bread, leeeetle cocktails (sorry, no pictures - I woke up a little too late to the fact that I had a camera). After the dinner (platter for 2) we were treated to: (I do apologise for the quality of the pics, the flash overexposed and I could not get it any better) The yummiest chocolate mousse with Cape Velvet.... AND the sweetest cupcakes (in more ways than one) - with sparkle icing!!! AND Irish coffees. All for free. Who said that you do not get anything for free these days. We only paid for the sushi, a glass of wine and coffee. Best recommendation EVER!! Head on over to Leaf restaurant and bar. They ROCK!!
