The second epic journey - Part 13

A BIG breakfast was served the next day.
We then packed and headed out to McGregor. A the tourist info we got a map, but many things on there were closed or by appointment only. Not sure when their season is. We wandered through the town. We could have done a hike, but after the last one, we did not feel like it.

Just a few improssions:









We then drove back to CT.


Thursday: we looked at the weather - cool and a bit windy, a perfect day for climbing Table Mountain. And it was perfect.












































On Friday we met Mel in Stellenbosch to do a quick tour. It ended with beer tasting :)






On Saturday I altered a T-shirt for Katja and in the evening we had dinner at Addis in Cape. YUM






We spent Sunday around the house, had high tea at the Mount Nelson hotel









and in the afternoon visited the Hout Bay market. Beautiful place. I started work again on Monday, and Katja had to do a few things by herself, like Robben Island....

A dinner with my brother was still on the cards, as well as taking some more postcard pictures of Table Mountain. And so, on a blustery late afternoon, we took these.



















Total km of the trip itself: 4358. With the last bit of driving in CT, I think we just-just managed to hit 5000km. A few less than the last one, but just as epic :)

To all who supported me in planning Raoul's and Hannah's wedding a BIG thank you. I couldn't have done it without you guys. To be honest, I brought it on myself, when I asked all of you to pitch in, but I did not anticipate all the extra sewing way back in April. Also, come to think of it, I now know where to hire table cloths for much less than the usual price, where to have flowers done (thank you Lehane and mom), what the buttonhole pins cost (to pin the flowers to lapels) and that simple is often more effective than a big hoohaa. Thanks also to all the Wartons who wave pitched in with cleaning up without asking or having to be asked. You guys are the best! Oh, yes, the correct boning arrived two weeks after the last post, and I could use it in Hannah's dress after all. I don't know how much she could breathe, but she survived the day and now can relax on her honeymoon - breathe in all the air she can. She looked absolutely gorgeous - thanks to Enno and her magic

Finally :)

A good few years ago, my friend H went to visit her family in the states and her mom was generous enough to part with some of her stash. I blogged about the start of the quilt a while back (In february last year - go figure) and then the top wound up in the cupboard, since I was so busy sewing for other people Well, this year marked a new season, and I finally have finished it :) Doing the happy dance right now Thank you H and M.
