Done and dusted

After slaving a whole year over this:

I got my results within a very short period of time and found out that I could have actually still graduated this year. BUT by then my mom could not make it because she still had problems with her passport that would not have been sorted by that time. I also was gettign extremely busy at work and did not want to rush the changes that needed to be made. I'm handing in the final-final version today and then will graduate in June next year.

Also our fashion show came wand went - go to "we-are-awesome.com" to have a look at some of the pictures and some backstage shots. Otherwise try facebook.com/designacademy. The third years outdid any other year thus far. Graduation was also a great time to send them on their way and to say good-bye.

I then also had the privilege to attend a Wings and Wheels (airshow and car exhibit) across from my flat at Ysterplaat airfield. I must honestly say that last year was awesome watching from my window, but seeing the planes up close and in action from right there was more exhilarating than I thought. The cars were awesome too. I found the NSRI and fire demos the best and got in a few great shots

The Gripen - stunning display!! BEST noise. Later that afternoon it did the display again AND deployed flares! I cannot describe it and would need more exclamation marks :)

The Wedding Planner

To all who supported me in planning Raoul's and Hannah's wedding a BIG thank you. I couldn't have done it without you guys. To be honest, I brought it on myself, when I asked all of you to pitch in, but I did not anticipate all the extra sewing way back in April. Also, come to think of it, I now know where to hire table cloths for much less than the usual price, where to have flowers done (thank you Lehane and mom), what the buttonhole pins cost (to pin the flowers to lapels) and that simple is often more effective than a big hoohaa. Thanks also to all the Wartons who wave pitched in with cleaning up without asking or having to be asked. You guys are the best! Oh, yes, the correct boning arrived two weeks after the last post, and I could use it in Hannah's dress after all. I don't know how much she could breathe, but she survived the day and now can relax on her honeymoon - breathe in all the air she can. She looked absolutely gorgeous - thanks to Enno and her magic

Finally :)

A good few years ago, my friend H went to visit her family in the states and her mom was generous enough to part with some of her stash. I blogged about the start of the quilt a while back (In february last year - go figure) and then the top wound up in the cupboard, since I was so busy sewing for other people Well, this year marked a new season, and I finally have finished it :) Doing the happy dance right now Thank you H and M.
