Leg 4 of an epic journey

It was raining and pouring the night before, but we were greeted by the most awesome sunshine, so off we went to Addo Elephant Park. Because of the rain, we did not get to see too much of the wildlife, but we got up close and personal with two elephant males.

Please note the other tracks on the ground. It was quite scary, as this part was ransacked by an entire herd and around every corner we were expecting to find them.... no such luck, but this one came straight at us and because the tracks veered, we were ok. This little Opel Corsa was not so lucky and had to duck out of the way.

and various other wildlife we saw on the way. Yes, we did try to yield to these little creatures as far as was possible.


 
This is what we got home to, after going into Addo to grab some beer (very dodgy bottle store...).


 Then we had sundowners on the little deck at the dam, before the Mozzies started eating us....

The Wedding Planner

To all who supported me in planning Raoul's and Hannah's wedding a BIG thank you. I couldn't have done it without you guys. To be honest, I brought it on myself, when I asked all of you to pitch in, but I did not anticipate all the extra sewing way back in April. Also, come to think of it, I now know where to hire table cloths for much less than the usual price, where to have flowers done (thank you Lehane and mom), what the buttonhole pins cost (to pin the flowers to lapels) and that simple is often more effective than a big hoohaa. Thanks also to all the Wartons who wave pitched in with cleaning up without asking or having to be asked. You guys are the best! Oh, yes, the correct boning arrived two weeks after the last post, and I could use it in Hannah's dress after all. I don't know how much she could breathe, but she survived the day and now can relax on her honeymoon - breathe in all the air she can. She looked absolutely gorgeous - thanks to Enno and her magic

Finally :)

A good few years ago, my friend H went to visit her family in the states and her mom was generous enough to part with some of her stash. I blogged about the start of the quilt a while back (In february last year - go figure) and then the top wound up in the cupboard, since I was so busy sewing for other people Well, this year marked a new season, and I finally have finished it :) Doing the happy dance right now Thank you H and M.
