Leg 6 of an epic journey

This is not actually a "leg", because we did things in and around Graaff-Reinet.

Firstly, we took a stroll through the beautiful town, I even found an electronics shop open on a Sunday (!), which could sell me a charger for my phone, which I intelligently accidentally left in Cape Town.

The Valley of Desolation was spectacular! We then headed off to the Camdeboo National Park, spread over three areas. Yes, we did see a Rhino, but it moved away so fast, that we did not get a proper photo.

What? you might ask... Snowfall in Africa? Indeed, though not at the time we were there. I think is was close to 40 Degrees Celsius at the time.

Camdeboo promised these beasties, but we did not see any. We were not sure whether they actually exist in the park.....

The Wedding Planner

To all who supported me in planning Raoul's and Hannah's wedding a BIG thank you. I couldn't have done it without you guys. To be honest, I brought it on myself, when I asked all of you to pitch in, but I did not anticipate all the extra sewing way back in April. Also, come to think of it, I now know where to hire table cloths for much less than the usual price, where to have flowers done (thank you Lehane and mom), what the buttonhole pins cost (to pin the flowers to lapels) and that simple is often more effective than a big hoohaa. Thanks also to all the Wartons who wave pitched in with cleaning up without asking or having to be asked. You guys are the best! Oh, yes, the correct boning arrived two weeks after the last post, and I could use it in Hannah's dress after all. I don't know how much she could breathe, but she survived the day and now can relax on her honeymoon - breathe in all the air she can. She looked absolutely gorgeous - thanks to Enno and her magic

Finally :)

A good few years ago, my friend H went to visit her family in the states and her mom was generous enough to part with some of her stash. I blogged about the start of the quilt a while back (In february last year - go figure) and then the top wound up in the cupboard, since I was so busy sewing for other people Well, this year marked a new season, and I finally have finished it :) Doing the happy dance right now Thank you H and M.
